Both clinics share prices and method, so the choice comes down to two things: which one is on your way, and which clinic has a physiotherapist who lists your complaint as a specialism. Jaw-joint treatment is available at Pasarét only.

What do the two clinics have in common?

At both, the first visit is the assessment: 60 minutes, 24,990 Ft, with treatment starting in that same session. Physiotherapy costs 22,990 Ft, manual therapy and the combined treatments 24,990 Ft, each lasting 50 minutes; the 60-minute Medical Fitness session is 22,990 Ft. Both clinics are open on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and closed at weekends, and at both you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. Both clinics build the treatment plan on the MozgásPiramis®, neither needs a referral, and both give +36 30 403 1857 as their phone number.

The NHS physiotherapy page says that at the first appointment the physiotherapist asks about your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle, examines you and then discusses treatment options. The sequence is the same at both clinics; we describe it in detail in this article.

Which clinic fits your day?

Opening hours do not decide between the two: both clinics are open on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm. How a session fits before or after work is covered in a separate article.

Getting there matters too. The Retek utca clinic is next to the Széll Kálmán tér transport hub, and the Pasarét clinic by the Budagyöngye stop, served by trams, buses and regional buses. Routes: getting to Retek utca and getting to Házmán utca 4; for parking, see the Retek utca and Pasarét articles.

Can you switch clinics later?

The two clinics have separate booking pages, so if you later want to go to the other one, you make a new booking there. Bring your reports and a note of your home exercises, so the new physiotherapist can see where you are.

Under section 8 of the Hungarian Health Act (Act CLIV of 1997), patients have the right to choose a healthcare provider of the level their condition requires, in line with the provider’s operating rules. Section 13 sets out the right to detailed information: you can ask what the physiotherapist recommends, and why.

What should you ask before booking?

The US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) suggests writing your questions down before a visit, so you make better use of the time. Before booking, it can help to clarify:

  • whether you would like treatment in English (both clinics treat in Hungarian or English);
  • how you will pay: both clinics accept cash, bank card, SZÉP card and health-fund card;
  • which time and physiotherapist suit your complaint.
